You do not need a fancy, complicated camera to get a great shot.
Point and Shoot cameras can be just as good as Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras if you know how to use all of their "bells and whistles."
Learn how to use your camera! Flip through the instruction manual, you'll be amazed at what your Point and Shoot can do. There are also a number of photography classes out there, sign up for one. Classes not only help you technically, they kick start the creative process.
Did you know that Point and Shoot cameras can shoot great landscape shots? They have a large F-stop, also known as aperture, which allows the depth of field to extend from the foreground all the way to the background. In English, everything in the image has the possibility of being clear and in focus.
If you are serious about photography, invest in a SLR camera. This will allow you to have control over your shot versus the camera having the control. In addition, you can change lenses.
Lighting is the key to great photography! Your photographs will improve greatly just by learning about lighting.
Shoot with the goal of capturing what you want with the camera. Try not to depend on photo editing software to “fix” your photographs. With time, speed, and light, your camera can capture anything.
